2012 IR Rule
Which Option
2012 IR Rule
Option 1: A player on IR still counts against the cap, but does free a roster spot. If an NFL team uses the "Marquis" Player Rule to bring the player back from the IR, you have two days (or until the first game of the week, which ever is longer) to get him back on your roster and be within the 30 player limit. A few method to potentially reach this would be trade, cutting a player (including the ir'd player), ir'ing another player, and others
Option 2: Putting a player on IR continues to free up the cap and roster space, If a player is brought back from IR via the "Marquis" Player Rule, you have two days (or until the first game of the week, which ever is longer) to get under cap, and the 30 man roster limit. Methods for accomplishing this can include, having a roster space and cap already, trades, etc.

Re: 2012 IR Rule
Pros of option 1, easier and less headaches. less of a chance of someone forfeiting because their guy comes back from ir while they are busy.
Cons or option 1, A big name going down no cap relief, although most the time i dunno what you think you're gunna get to spend 80 in cap...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the pros of option 2, a big name goes down you get major cap relief...for the rest of the season...
The cons of option 2, much larger chance of someone being busy and not being able to get under cap, than just freeing up a space.

Re: 2012 IR Rule
Also this vote is for this year, there will be a vote later to potentially change it for next year (this winner of this vote will be come the standard rule, therefore the other one would need 6 votes in the second vote to pass)
