Again... To put a hard cap on roster bids would completely change free agency. Due to the timing issue of the current FA model, teams who miss out on their top options could miss out on their depth options as well. This is not the comprehensive FA reform we need. We need to address, cap and roster limitations in addition to a more uniform clock on each player. Vote "We should be allowed to bid over our cap space" and lets start over.

again unless someone (myself or another league member) finds a viable online auction platform that suits our needs (different caps/roster spots for each team and an editable available player option), there is no workable way to make an "end date" type auction work imo. Anyone that was busy at that time would be screwed, and it would have to be set so far in advance that last second things could still screw over players.

I liked your idea about using the forum to establish opening bids and then close them in a quick auction.

Yeah but that involves finding a useful auction software that is affordable and can handle needs...
